According to TMZ Sports and NBC Sports, Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Champion, Alshon Jeffery, was arrested and charged with insurance fraud last month in California.

“The specific accusation is that Jeffery had been involved in an automobile accident on September 21, 2025. His insurance allegedly had lapsed. He thereafter purchased a new policy on September 24 and allegedly claimed the accident happened on September 28,” according to NBC.

Jefferey’s representative, Denise White of EAG Sports Management, made a statement indicating that, “The underlying incident was a minor freeway fender bender, and he provided his information at the scene,” and “These are unfounded allegations only, and Alshon has not been convicted of any offense. He will address this matter through the legal process, and he remains confident that the facts will demonstrate this was a misunderstanding and nothing more.”

NBC reported, “If it’s a misunderstanding, Jeffery’s top priority should be to get the prosecutors to understand. Instead, he reportedly failed to appear in court March 9. That led to the warrant for his arrest. He was freed on $25,000 bond.”

The case should be very simple to clarify. When did the accident happen? When was the insurance policy purchased? Did Jeffery have insurance in place when the accident happened?

In the state of California, insurance fraud is a felony carrying a sentence of up to 5 years in prison and fine(s).
