Northern New Jersey Chiropractors Accept Responsibility for Insurance Fraud Scheme in Court

Three chiropractors from Passaic and Bergen counties had their day in court last month for their roles in orchestrating a bogus practice in Paterson, NJ. Charles Nisivoccia of Little Falls, Marco Esposito of Haledon, and Craig Klein of Ridgewood, all plead guilty to theft by unlawful taking last October, claiming responsibility of robbing millions of dollars from more than 30 insurance companies.

Each perpetrator has been sentenced to five years probation and has been forced to surrender their licenses to practice for five years. Charles Nisivoccia also received a sentence of one year in Passaic County Jail for orchestrating the fraud scheme.

Nisivoccia and Klein are forced to pay $100,000 in restitution, while Esposito will pay $50,000. The money will be allocated to the proper victims.

According to Northjersey.com, “The three admitted to personally profiting somewhere between $500 and $75,000 as part of their pleas.” But so far, the actual amount that each perpetrator profited out of the $2.8 million scheme is unknown.
