NJ Man Charged with Murdering his Brother and his Brother’s Family Now Facing Insurance Fraud Charge

In November of 2018, 51-year-old Paul Caneiro was charged with gruesomely murdering his brother, Keith Caneiro, his brother’s wife, Jennifer, and their two children at their Colts Neck, NJ estate, setting fire to their mansion, and setting his own house on fire in an attempt to cover up the crimes and give the appearance that their family had been targeted.

New developments last month reveal that Caneiro is now facing a new charge according to Fox 29; insurance fraud. However, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office declined to elaborate on any further details.

Caneiro has already been charged with four counts of murder, arson and weapons charges. It has been reported that his motive was “financial in nature, stemming from two businesses – a computer systems company called Square One and a pest control business – he and his brother jointly ran in Asbury Park,” according to the prosecutor.

We will be monitoring the developments in the case.
