Maximizing Investigative Efforts During the Pandemic with Social Media Investigations

At ICU Investigations, we adjust and we adapt. It is what we have always done, and adapting to the environment is an integral part of being investigators. While surveillance has been put on hold to remain compliant with various states’ stay-at-home orders, we are fortunate enough to be able to retain our entire staff. Here’s the thing, we are not the only people stuck in the house. Everyone is (if they’re complying), with the exception of essential workers.

“How are we going to know what our claimants are up to?!” We thought you’d never ask.

People are home, people are bored, and people are stir crazy. Your claimants/subjects are likely to be active, getting an early start on spring cleaning, home maintenance, landscaping, enjoying warmer weather, activities with their children, walking, exercising, etc. You know what else they’re going to do? They’re going to post on social media about it.

Internet Profile Reports include the following:

  1. Full personal profile

  2. Social media search to include Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube, and NOW TIKTOK, etc., in conjunction with websites found on the surface and deep/dark web

  3. Address history

  4. Property ownership information

  5. And more!

This is the perfect opportunity to determine lifestyle, hobbies, and activities that your claimants/subjects participate in. And once quarantine is over, it is back to business as usual and we will resume surveillance with a whole lot of social media material to work with!
